I recently acquired a Porcupine Fish, though I am having some problems getting him to eat. I fed him some freeze dried Krill the other night which he ate well, though now he seems to show no interest ... any suggestions?

As mentioned before--crunchies are important. Most puffers are not interested in freeze dried foods, flakes or pellets--they want fleshy foods. Raw cocktail shrimp, mussels, cockles, clams, crab legs--they must have the crunchy foods or their beaks overgrow. I've seen a few that will take frozen foods, but they've always done better on fresh foods. Make sure not to overfeed--their digestive system is very slow, and overfeeding can result in rotting foods in their intestine--often lethal.

what size tank is recomended for a porcupine puffer/ possible tank mates.

What time are you feeding him. As you know they are more nocternal, so I would try a really fleshy food, mine liked salmon from the delli. I had the same problem, he would be awake, swimming around but he acted sluggish. As soon as I fed 20 minutes after the lights went out he would eat.
