I've hit on something that my catfish really, really enjoys compliments of Ken's Fish. My featherfin goes ga-ga for the freeze dried earthworms (I think its a female). I've tried to look this up but there is no real answer so I am trying here with other peoples experiences. My syno will not hardly eat anything but these earthworms. Is it okay to feed them to her everyday? I can't find anything negative about it and I'm sure she grazes at night in her travels and eats other things in the tank like snail jello, cucumber, catfish chips, etc., She will also eat white worms and some frozen brine shrimp etc., I am just worried that feeding earthworms everyday will be a bad thing. Any help is appreciated!

Syno's are opportunistic omnivores, and really should have some veggie content in their diet occaisonally. Spirulina-based flake if nothing else, peas are usually popular too.

Ahhh! Thanks for your reply! She does eat her share of peas too but she is a real piggy now and pushes all the fish away in the morning when I feed them but she won't eat the dry food I put in--she just creates havoc at the surface when I am standing there. I've even gotten a tail splashing. She is doing this, I believe, to get my attention to get her the earthworms. I guess if I just ignore her--she may go back to her normal 'before the earthworm' self. Perhaps I should only feed her the worms every couple of days to break the cycle I seem to have created?

Earthworms do not have the nutrients most other foods do so you're limiting the fish of its requirements by getting it too obsessed on one food. I'd feed it a varied diet and use earthworms once a week only.

If the behaviour (feeding earthworms) has not been going on for too long it should not take long to change the habit. I would give it a go as a varied diet is always healthier in the long run.
