just a question, how often do you all feed your fish? i hear that you should feed livebearers daily, as much as they eat in 2 minutes.. but the canister of food says 3x daily, as much as they eat in 2 mins. some clarification would be appreciated.

Once a day for most fish, what they can do away with in 2-3 minutes, a little bit at a time.

Predators, three to four times a week basically.

Fry tanks, 3-4 times a day.

I feed my fish twice a day. It doesn't matter how often you feed them. You could feed them 1 big meal or 5 small ones. Of course, the more small feedings you can give them the better. So your better off with 3 feedings a day than 1. This is because there is less left over food after the feeding.

I have livebearers, cories and cichlids mostly. I feed 1x per day for 5-6 days a week. I generally do not feed them on Thursday (my maintenance day for the tanks).

I feed what they eat at the surface in 3-5 minutes. If you see food reaching the bottom, that's too much. Mostly I feed what they eat in 1 min, wait until it is gone and add the same amount - less mess and less waste reaches the bottom. Remember, (most) fish will not eat uneatten food once it has been on the bottom for 2+ hours...

i feed my community fish twice a day.. once in the morning, and once in the afternoon, usually with a different food each time.

the fry get powdered flake in the morning, fry meal (high protein powder) at noon, mashed bloodworms in the afternoon, and fry meal again before lights out. they grow QUICK, too. :D
