I feed my Cichlids once a day in order to prevent over feeding. Is that good enough, or should I be feeding them 2 or 3 times like most folks. Would under feedin hurt them?

I feed mine twice-------per week. They thrive. The omnivores do have some algae and an anubias to munch on though.

Hi,

I feed my Cichlids twice a day. I sometimes try to feed less, but most times I fall for those pleading eyes that say "FEED me! FEED me!".

LOL---I used to also. Problem is mine had those eyes ALL the time. Even right after they ate.

I fed mine a couple small meals...rarely do they get round bellies..fish can get fat

I alternate between Hikari pellets and Tropical fish flakes. Seems like once a day is fine, they always seems to be hungry :) they go crazy when they see me.
I am hoping that the Hikari Pellets will bring out some color in them, they are all kinda silverish right now.

Hi,

Sometimes after I feed them earth worms their still hungry! I can fall for Cichlid eyes, but what I fall for every single time is my Cories eyes that say "FEED us Shrimp Pellets! FEED us Algae Wafers!". A couple of them are just a little chubby ;).
