These fish are so cool. i've had mine in my 20g tank now for a few months, ever since my male died. she is bright red and has a great character, and is not scared of the net or my hand coming in the tank, like all the other fish. i think a tank full of these, all different colours would be great!
anyone else agree?
ps. i think they are betta than males...
 
I wholeheartedly agree with you. With the breeding now producing a full range of colorful Betta Females, I think they're an outstanding fish for the aquarium. (I had recently started a thread in which I went out on the limb to think that Female Bettas were the most underrated small community fish out there).

I have a dark blue and a teal one in my tank, and they give each other and all the other occupants of my tank no troubles at all. And they're fun as can be, as they'll greet you with a "betta kissyface" every time they see you approaching the tank!
