Few questions about stocking.

Okay, so I was having a poop load of problems with my tank but it's worked out now.
I was just wondering what would be good tank mates for mollies?
I'm thinking about getting 2 or 3 of them.
Platys are next on the list.
Would any sort of tetra be okay?
I love angels, but I only have a 10 gallon so far.

Also, last week when I was having all the problems, one of my goldfish started to swell and almost looked constipated. It passed a few days later, but could that have been the problem?

If you already have more than one goldfish in your 10 gallon you are already overstocked. Mind giving a list of the current fish in your 10 gallon?

I don't have any just yet.
I just had a few small goldfish and they passed when I had those tank problems.
The only living things in there now is 6 ghost shrimp and an apple snail.

do u have a heater in this tank? If u dont u wont be able to add tetras or mollies. If u do u shouldnt be keeping goldfish in it as they are colder water fish.

Oh, when you said it passed I thought you meant it got better. The bloating thing was probably dropsy then, indicating poor water quality.

I have a heater, but I didn't use it for the goldfish.

Googled dropsy, and I had been doing weekly water changes but I guess it was a different cause.
The scales never stuck out like the pine cone resemblance mentioned.

It got more elongated swollen and looked perfectly normal from top view, also.
