I will be putting some anglefish and some rams in my tank. I have never had anglefish before(rams either). Will the anglefish grow? Also, what other fish would go good in the tank(72g) besides plecos and other bottom feeders.
angelfish can reach about 6 inches. i've had three for about a year. 2 formed a pair so i had to remove the other. they were all the same size to start.
the one i removed has grown very slightly, the female of the pair hasn't grown at all. however the male is now about three times the size of the other two. its pretty strange really.
as for other tankmates how about clown loaches (mind you i always say that ) i know you said not bottom feeders but mine tend to use the whole tank.
you don't really want anything too boisterous with angels being kinda slow.
clown loaches would look good but if u do get those make sure your water is always in its top quality cause clown loaches are very susspetible to ich beacuse they are scaleless,i found this out the hard way.
you're right tightdog. i quarantined mine and medicated them with an ich cure just in case before i put them in the main tank. i've never had a problem.
NJ-I have the same thing, 72g with two angels, 3 gold rams, serpae tetras, ottos, and cardinals, and one cory. So far so good, I just need more angels. I had 5 but shipping and stress got three. Good luck with them.
