Purchased a Fig 8 a week ago. He is in a slightly brackish 29 gal tank. I'd like to add a few other fish if possible. Could I add another Fig 8 and 3-5 mollies, or what about 2 more fig 8's and 3-5 mollies? So either 2 or 3 total Fig 8s and 3-5 mollies. Any other fish work well with the puffers, in a brakish 29 gal?? Do I need to add or adjust plants and such when I add the fish??

You're pretty much just stuck with the f-8. If you had done your research you'd know that puffers are pretty much a species only kind of fish. One per 30g, no more, no less. You've got the right tank size, but you're pretty much limited to only the f-8. Also, what do you mean by slightly brackish? Are you using marine salt?

The Figure 8 dos not need a 30 gallon tank to itself - I believe you are thinking of GSPs. Figure 8s grow only to about 2 1/2" standard length. A 15 alone would do, a 20 would be luxurious. In the later or in a 29, bumblebee gobies would be good tank mates.

I woulf not go for more Figure 8s without more floor space and a visually complex setup, then I would do at least three. Two seems to lead to top dog/underdog issues.

I have a 29g w/3 F8s, a couple of pairs of knight gobys & a half dozen BB gobys. I like the combo. Also, I keep the SG at 1.008-10.
