Okay, How much fighting is to much for a pair of Kissing Gouramis? I have them in a 55g and have had them about 2 months. I am not watching them all day, but I mostly see it at night while I am in the office after I feed them. My LFS said to keep an eye out for any torn parts or orange looking infection around the mouth. Any and all advise is welcome. TIA

What else is in the tank with them? When kissers "kiss" they are acctualy fighting for dominance this display is called a lip lock. If one is getting bullied around badley you may want to see if the LFS will take one back or purchase a tank divider. BTW these guys will get to 12" and are waste machines so be prepared for water quality issues down the line in a 55 gal.

As kissers get older they tend to get more aggressive with other kissers and other fish. How big are the fish at the moment? You will also want to get a bigger tank if you plan to keep these fish. You will need at least a 75g to house both of these fish or you may end up with dead fish. Some people even say to go bigger.

They are about 3" long and 1 1/4" tall right now. Should I go ahead and sell one back to the fish store now or wait.
