Figure 8 Puffer Questions

Planning a 90G community, want to include 2 Figure 8 Puffers. Others fish planned - clown loaches, barbs, gouramis, medium size sharks.

1. Is fresh water ok for the Figure 8 Puffers?
2. Are they ok in this type of community?

i had a puffer, i was told enver to put them with other fish. They are fine in freash water, but after watching my g/f's puffer eat soem food, i would never place it in a tank with anything even close to its size. I was like watching a dog with its favortie chew toy!.... Good luck with the tank!

NO Freshwater is NOT OK for Figure 8 Puffers, they need BRACKISH water. (SG of 1.005-1.008)

NO They are not OK in community tanks. Their temperments are variable and can range from loveable, cute, tender guys, to vicious evil little brutes.

Agree w/Oddball~. Light brackish water, non-community, crunchy food (snails, shell-on shrimp, etc.) required, but not good feeding competitors despite their dispositions.
