I have an XP3 only about 6 months old.

It never primed properly, and i'm wondering if that has to do with a leak, or a seam/seal not doing its job.
Just today, i cleaned the filter, and plugged it in, and it started dripping from the seam in the picture below and from where the power cord enters the filter.
Any ideas?
sorry for the half *** description, i;m in a hurry

Absolutely. It's the seals around the quick disconnect. The inlet/outlet are not sealing properly allowing water to leak into the head of the unit. Once it reaches the level of the power cord, it leaks out from there. Check to be sure that there isn't something preventing the o-rings from sealing. Also, if the hoses are too short or otherwise pulling too much, it could prevent them from sealing. You could also put a dab of silicone grease or vaseline on the o-rings for good measure.
No, "not priming it properly" doesn't cause this.

No problem.
