I just replaced the impeller in the filter and I hear a vibrating noise. Any ideas how to make it run quietly?

Mine has always been quiet no matter what was underneath it.... Have you tried overfilling it with water then putting the top on? I dont really understand the problem here.

are you sure you got the impellor seated correctly? or its possible its got a bent shaft

or is it possible that the damaged impeller damaged the slot it fits into. if so not only will you have to deal with the noise but also plan on a new filter soon. that new impeller banging around in a stretched/damaged slot will wear fairly quick and there's no knowing when it'll go.

if the slot isn't damaged disregard my whole post. if you can't figure it out consider it a possibility and be prepared just in case.
