What do you all prefer for food your your filter feeding corals? I remember reading a few weeks back that one of you didnt like Marine Snow as you thought it was mostly water? What other brands do you use? Im looking at getting some pulsing Xenia's and some leathers or such.

Thanks
Jeff

I use DT's Live Marine Phytoplankton everyday for my 90 gallon tank. I use 1 capful per day. I have many filter feeders including 2 clams, feathers, gorgonias, sea fans and sponges. This may be too much for other tanks or not enough pending on how much livestock you have that can use it. Overfeeding will more than likely encourage algae growth.

I also use about 15ml of Roti-Rich biweekly.

I have been pretty successful doing this but each tank is different and requires different things. Also note DTs is not cheap but I accept the price for the beauty of the tank. I think the larger bottle is around $40 from my LFS and lasts roughly 2 months.

You might want to consider iodine supplements if you want to try Xenias. They are pretty hardy but you will see many stories of colonies dieing off then rebuilding themselves. Some analysis thinks this is due to lack of iodine or a sudden shift in temperature or salinity.
