Are filter socks good or bad, I ask because Im looking at a aqueon 4 sump and it comes with two filter socks installed.. This will be on a 200 gallon tank with fish only??????

Personally I think they are bad. They trap too much stuff, some of it good stuff like copepods. The bad stuff it catches, fish waste and food, sits in the socks and decays and ends up making the water worse if you don't change the socks out regularly (every 2 days tops). Too much of a pain to deal with IMO. If a person wants to use socks I would recommend using them just as a "weekend water polisher" type thing where you put them in on Saturday and take them out Sunday and run no sock the rest of the week.

That is what skimmers and algae turf scrubbers are for. ;) They don't "trap" the waste, with a skimmer it physically removes it from the water and with an algae turf scrubber it consumes/eats it to remove it from the water.

i like socks i change mine out every 4 days very simple and fast to do. they keep my tanks clean and clear. and the best part they are reuseable for a long time with regular cleaning.
