My filter does not have a lot of power, I have turned on to the max and the water circulation is really really slow, I already cleaned it, it is a Topfin 20 SHould I get a new one? WHat is the best power filter for a 20g tank?

I also like aquaclears. I think an aquaclear 200 would be great for a 20 gallon, especially if your tank is a bit over the stocking limit.

I myself have a FilStar xP1 on my 20g. Im addicted to canisters.

But if you want to stay HOBs a AC200 would be perfect.

What about the bio-wheels? DO those wheels really make a difference?

Bio wheels supposedly give room for bacteria to grow, but I don't think it is necessary. It is also bad for planted tanks as it will mix air and water and disperse the CO2.

I personally prefer the aquaclears over the biowheel filters because the ACs give much more flexibility in media. You can customize it to be most effecient in your setup.
