To those of you who use peat in your filters, what kind of peat do you use? Do you use the pond pellets or the stuff from the garden store or something completely different? I've read conflicting info on different websites and am hoping to hear from someone with real experience. Thanks!

You can use both but I think the garden kind, the kind you put in pots for plants, or sprinkle on new grass seedlings, works the best, it really absorbs the water and releases tons of tannins and antioxidants.

DISCLAIMER: The water will turn a tea color, darker or lighter depending on the size of aquarium and how much you use.
