ok so i have been to this site to figure out how to stock a new aquarium when i get one....now for a filter i have on there a aquatech 30-60 and it says that the filtration is at 109% satisfactory....so is there a better filter out there ....do i have to many fish?????? please help i really want to do it right

Under filtered in my opinion...at best cut any filter's advertised rate in half. I would put a small canister on a tank that size.

I also think that stocking advice is inappropriate. Go with the loaches or the cory, not both.

thanks Bob...im new at all this....also i want to do a planted aquarium does that in anyway make a difference with filtration and fish......also was wondering how you do the lighting on planted tanks...was looking on youtube some gorgeous tanks and they use like 4 different bulbs????? What Im thinking is taking my time planting a gorgeous tank.....can you plant a tank and cycle at the same time or are there certain steps you have to take......i really really apprecitate any help

Yes, plants will definitely help and they can be added for the cycle. Make a thread in the planted section for lighting input...it will depend on the plants you want, but you will find many low light plants that are attractive and easy to grow with standard lighting I am sure, with or without CO2.

ok thanks....so im going to go with the loaches.....also i didnt put it on the list but i am so fascinated by the crystal red shrimps and the cherry shrimps can they go in the tank with the tetras and loaches and celestial danio?

Hmmmm..have no clue...sounds like food to me...lol. I know that some shrimp can co-exist with certain fish.

100% agree. dont have to go with a canister but they are nice.

i would look into a 2 bulb fixture from fishneedit. unless you want to go with a real high light set up.

i would set up a tank just for the shrimp if they start to over run the tank move them over to the larger tank. at the very least they will eat the shrimplets.
