Filtration overkill???

Would getting a Filstar XP3 be overkill for a 37 gallon?? Just wondering because I was thinking about getting that for my tank. Plus Big Als has it for $90.

No, not at all. The Filstar has an adjustable flow knob on the outlet tube.

Yea.. I dont think there is ever a problem with OVER filtration. Just make sure the current in the tank isnt to strong. We dont want hurricane conditions in your tank..

Ok, thanks for the feed back!! Now, will the same still apply to a planted tank?? I have 2 amazon swords and 30 something individual anarchis in a 37 gallon tank that has been running since saturday evening. Right now, the water chemistry shows 0 all across the board with 7.4 pH. Water is still cloudy, but that will go away once I get a fish in their, right??

You can NEVER over filter a tank

this is coming from the person that has 4 filters and a sump on his 55 gallon tank though

i think the more the better too. but with plants, excessive current *might* be a problem........

maybe richer will chime in now....

4 filters and a sump? How big are the filters each?

jameson, i used to use an emp 400 a fluval 404 *and* a tetratech 500 on my 55g........

made for a pretty clean tank.
