Do the fish regrow there fins? My one fish really had its back fin removed and was hoping it does grow back?
Thanks

Our fancy guppy is actually going through this right now...he had virtually no tail left due to our dwarf neon blue gourami :( (although, if I had to choose, I'd pick the gourami if he wouldn't have passed). Our guppy has been in our 29 gallon with some tiger barbs & platies and his tail is looking VERY good

if you have another tank i would put them in it and add melafix. here is what big als says about it.

Melafix is an all-natural medication derived from the leaves of "melaleuca," the scientific name for the tea tree. The healing properties of tea tree extract has been known for centuries. University studies and extensive laboratory tests showed that melafix is an effective bacterial remedy for freshwater and marine fish. Melafix also caused rapid repair of damaged fish tissue and fins. New growth was seen in as little as four days of treatment.

yeah, fish fins usually grow back. but i had a female white cloud who lost her tail fin before i got her. i thought it would grow back, but it never did! the poor thing had to wiggle her butt really hard just to swim. i called her "Stumpy" :D Never did figure out why it never grew back, or how she lost it. But it was totally gone, it was just a stump, with no fin rays or webbing left at all

Stumpy never did as well as the others, and was the first to die. I think the hard work of swimming with a stump finally did her in. She was probably exhausted after surviving over two years with it :(
