Fin rot, other disease or healing tear?

My Neon Swordtail has a tear making a triangle shape in his tail fin, the torn tissue is white. No other fish in my tank are sick as far as I can tell, no ich or fin rot on any other fish. Is this just the tear healing, or has fin rot set in on the tear?

Hard to tell, but it looks more like a tear than fin rot.
Suggest adding some aquarium salt to the tank, give it a couple of days, and see if it shows signs of healing, or worsening/getting larger.
