fin rot?

I did the salt in the tank and she seems to be doing fine. I am going to do another clean of the tank this evening just to ease myself. Any suggestions as to what else I could be doing for them...It seems that I have had my first battles with diseases this last little while....I am learning slowly, hopefully I can keep all this information inside my brain...lol

how long does it take for a tail to grow back? It must be hard for her to swim around with missing finnage and have a belly full of babies.

despite the distraught female swordtail, she had about 50 fry the other day. They are so cute. I am continuing the salt in the aquarium, BTW the fry are in their own tank, and she seems to be okay. I still have no clue as to when I should expect her tail and fins to start growing back, or even if the salt is helping. Any input is great!

well theres 2 stages to any infection and thats stopping the infection and the eventual heal of the infection.

if you are treating the tank you should see the white line at the edge of her fin and there should be a "clean" fin. After thats happened the fin will grow back overtime...depending on the damage most fish heal split fins in 3 or so days. however if the disease spread down to the base of the fin then theres a possibility it might not grow back....no way to tell....but just make sure theres a clean wound, make sure theres no white and that theres not an irritation look to the wound if any.

Actually, I closely examined the tail and to my surprise, I could tell that there has been some growth. The fin was missing right to the base of her tail. There is slightly a fin there now. Thank you for all of your help.
