First Cellphone

Well that's a great size improvement! :D

And One teeny
tiny cell phone!

My fingers might be too big for the buttons!

I will be dating myself but yes, we had one of these in the beginning. Actually we started out with a bag phone, wasn't too portable though as it was as big as a large purse. Now I am looking at buying one of the new nice thin ones that also houses a PDA, to help unclutter my purse!

Mine is so small that it isn't even there....I don't have one.

I had a bagphone. It may even still be lurking around in the basement somewhere. If you wanted voicemail, you had to have something the size of a vhs tape installed into the bag if I remember. Or maybe that was for the battery..it's been so long!

a friend of mine still carries a cell phone thats slightly larger than a cordless home handset. still works and she hardly ever uses it so never bothered to get a new one. i think i'm on my 6th cell phone in the past 8 years.

I can't imagine.. $4,000 and 1/2 hour talk time...

The bag phones are still in use in rural areas allot to this day as they range is at least double or three times more then digital and analog.

At the risk of exposing how small and remote Wyoming is (and giving Matak more fodder ;) ), bag phones are still very much in use at my work. They have a much better range and reliability, though I don't think anyone carries them with them--they are just left in vehicles. There are lots and lots of places out here where getting any kind of cell signal is a minor miracle. On one camping trip last summer, I walked over 5 miles to the top of a nearby peak to get a cell signal. :)
