Hello everyone. I am new here and this is my first post. I live in northern Massachusetts and have an outdoor pond that we inherited when we bought the house. It was built using concrete/cement sides and floor. It holds about 200 gallons and features a fountain piped underground to a pump and motor inside the house in the basement. I've installed a two-stage foam filter box on the inlet line to the pump. I started populating the pond with feeder comets back in April and now I think that I've worked out most of the issues that have killed my fish. I now have graduated to a few kois that my children have named "Ned", "Ted", and "Red". I bought both hardy lilies and water hyacinth that are growing prodigiously. I still occasionally have to fight ph balance issues that I think I can attribute to lime in the concrete walls and floor. I think that a good coat of paint might seal the pond but I am afraid of using the wrong type. Does anyone have any suggestions on the type of paint to use? Also, how long do you think that I would need to let it "cure" before refilling and returning the fish?
Thanks,
Monty
