Not only do you not need an anemone in that tank you wouldn't want one either. Imho, you'd have a very hard time keeping it alive in that tank. I hope you read the stickies in the sw forums!
Welcome to Salt Water!

Provide lots of extra shells per hermit crab. With clowns, gennerally, 2 is the max. per tank. However, make sure you cycle the tank before buying them, of course.

I did a google search on them. Here are some key points:
  • This is a preadatory crab. It uses it's claws to rip apart hermit crab and snail shells.
  • This crab is quite large, "Size: Carapace Width: 15cm (6") Carapace Length: 11cm (4.25")".

Obviously, this critter is too large to be kept in your planned tank unless it is to be the only critter and you have very little live rock. Also, it would mean any snails wouldn't last very long, which can be a bad thing as snails are often used for for scavangers and/or algae eating.

Also, is there a specific reason why you want crabs that you don't have to provide shells for?

No, no reason just wondering :) How long does it take for hermit crabs to reach their full size? And are there any others that don't need shells?
