i always drop algea wafers a jar sitting in my tank and my bn plecos go in there eat and poop. well i notice after feeding them other fish go in there and just swim aimlessly constantly knocking into the glass with no idea wth is going on and stirring up all the poop in there and eating it and psitting it out and eating eat and spitting it out untill it like all makes its way out the jar from being stirred up so much.

so that got me thinking, is there fish food that that can be eaten up with some nutrients taken and others pooped out that would be good for bottom feeds and/or live plants

also i want some small corydoras and dont know what to get? corydora sterbai????

none of the fish are eating other's waste...and why use a jar?

Plecos poop alot. It's one of the drawbacks to owning them. The better quality food you provide the more it will show up in their digestive system. All fish need a varied diet and you will need to experiment and find which foods generate the least poo. There are some foods I give my pleco and it expresses alot, other foods, not so much.

Keep in mind that waste is exactly that - nutrition or bulk that the fish cannot process. Depending on the pleco you have, you may need to add some driftwood as it is an aid for their digestion.

the plecos came in that jar and for some reason they like to just hang off it, so i decided to keep it in there. i got a sweet pic of all five of them just sitting there sucking on it, ha. shame its on my phone.

so then why do thos fish constantly crowd and swim around in the jar swallowing and spitting out the pleco poo until its all gone and then they eventually leave the jar till later when theres more pleco poop?

they know it as aplace to meet foor food..thats all...they break it up but don't digest it.....
