Hi!,

I have some fish in my freshwater tank (not sure what kind they are) and they are laying eggs on the rocks that we have in there...

Does anyone know how long it takes once the eggs have been layed before they hatch???

What is going to happen to these eggs if I just leave the fish alone??

Thanks for any help/advise!!

umh, are they fresh water or salt? Can you find out what sort of fish you have even species would help. Also do you have a way to keep the parents from eating the eggs? Did you see them spawn and did the male fertalise the eggs. This really isn't the place here to post this but, we'll tell you what we can. I really wouldn't hold out too much hope for them though.
Hope this helps and welcome to Aquaria Central :D

I'd say do nothing with these eggs. There is no way you'll be up to speed on rearing the young in time to take care of them. If your interested in breeding the fish when your more prepared look at it this way...

Atleast you have a pair of fish that will actively spawn!

Figure out what the requirements for raising the specific baby fish are, do a lot of research, and be prepared for some work. I wish you luck.

My father and I have been breeding saltwater clownfish now for a little while, it's a lot of work but very rewarding experience.

Fish eggs don't really hatch. They more or less morph into fish.
I doubt it will take more than 2-3 days until eggs begin to "wiggle", and a couple days more to become free swimming.
Some fish species, such a cichlids, take very good care of developing eggs and young fry.
So it depends. All of the eggs could be eaten by other fish, or you could have a lot of new fish to take care of.
