Fish poop settling to bottom

Get a turkey baster and use it to suck up the occasional fish poop. Gravel vacs will suck out alot of water when all you are trying to do is get a few pieces of poop. A turkey baster allows for precise poop cleanange with minimal wastage of the water.

I tried a turkey baster but it didn't work so well for me....I think my turkey baster has issues anyway...Ah well, the battery vac with the vac cup and bag works great!

Even better than a battery powered Gravel Vac is one run by an air pump (i.e. no batteries to replace). I have one from Marineland and it is awesome.

I cut off one of the feet of a nylon stocking, attached it to one end of my syphon with a rubber band, suck out my fish poo, and pour the water from the bucket back into the tank. Voila! A great way to clean between water changes. I have goldies, so extra poop cleaning is always a bonus!

here are solution for my setup

1. all my tanks are bare...

2. i put a cheap canister with intake tube toward the bottom... so the poop will suck up 24/7

i have 18+ tank... ranging from 180 ~2.5 gallons
