fish preferences?

I have some wisteria, ludwigia, and bacopa floating in my 55 right now, and I've seen both of my adfs floating in the tangle its made.

One or two what? Watersprite, java moss, java fern, or anubias should do well and give the frogs something to explore. On second thought ditch the moss, because if the frog gets their leg caught in it and can't get to the top for air it's bye bye froggy.:(

If you have low lighting, which I am guessing you do, you could just get some low-light and slow growing plants. They wouldn't really need any extra fertilizer and they wouldn't need to be pruned often. The plants I mention should do well.

As many as you want or can fit comfortably. I don't know your specific tank size and measurements, so I couldn't really teall you.

Yeah, that sounds about right. The plants I listed are slow growers, excluding watersprite, and shouldn't need that many nutrients, especially when you don't have that much light. Just go with your instinct. The more plants the better, especially when starting a new tank, you should plant heavily.
