Fish Tank Divider Question!!!

The tote won't expand, I have made sure of that, and as an extra precaution, I double toted it, used 2, filled up only 1.

I will try ur white plastic mesh method, OR I will just buy plastic sheets and make 1/2mm or smaller holes in them!
 
Any other thoughts, and how hard do u guys think it is to make a 5.5G tank like taaris?
