fish tanks!

Size of tank you have now will be helpful and what size you would like to buy. I always tell people to get the biggest tank you have room for and have money for. Also do research on the fish you have or intending on getting. A goldfish will need about 30 gallon each. My son came home from a carnival with two goldfish. We were going to get them a 75 gallon tank for 2 goldfish but unfortunately Great grandma over feed them before we could remove them. In a years time they were 6" each.
I would look around on Craigslist in your area for a used tank around 55 gallons or so. This should be good enough for the goldfish for life and you could probably add a couple more goldfish, but will need heavy filtration. Basically, the sooner they are out of that bowl, the better.
A 55 gallon will be good for the two goldies if they are fancy goldfish (short and fat with fan tails). Don't add any more fish though.

First off goldfish get way too big for the little bowl. If kept healthy they can live for 10-20 years on average and can 12+ inches long. Unfortunately most of us start with these poor little guys in a bowl. If you cannot afford a large tank, the goldfish in the little bowl will not live long (a couple of months if your lucky).
So for you little sister - get the largest tank that you can. The larger the tank is the easier it is to care for the fish. After you purchase the tank come online and ask what will thrive in the space you can provide. Depending on the setup we can recommend fish that will live a long and happy life and not cause you any problems.
