you need a huge tank for a frontosa, like a 125 when they grow up. They get to 14 in, and when they are small you may be able to get away w/ a 55 or bigger, but they need a big tank. If you can supply the big tank, yes malawi cichlids can go with them, i keep mine with red zebras and haps and peacocks. But the y have to be a little bigger species like Hap ahli. Also another fact to consider is that the "mixed africans" or "mixed mbuna" are not good for one reason, inbreeding. You never know what you get in those tanks, if you want malawi cichlids, find a lfs that keeps each species in a diff tank so you know exaclty what spcies you are getting. Ive made the mistake of buying from a tank labled mixed and i have a bumblebee cross, and i dont know what he is crossed with. Now if you know the cross and understand cross breeding then by all means buy from the mixed tank, but if you want pure buy from a diff place.
