Fishing at my local pond 6/17

I stopped by my local pond for a 1/2hr on my way home from work last night. I caught a couple of very small LMB on a 5" wacky pumpkin senko out of the weeds. The strange thing was on one of my retrieves when the bait got close to shore I saw a 24"+/- water snake jump out of the reeds and grabbed my bait. I really couldn't believe it. That thing must have been hungry. Here's a few pics and proof that senkos can catch just about anything...

...yes it was catch and release...

How come you didn't thumb hold the snake for a picture?

i dont know abou were your at but in florida u dont play with thoes water snakes(Water Mocassin) here they can pack a punch thet can mess you up of u get bitten

It is a non-venemous northern water snake.
