I'm going away over the weekend and going to miss a day dosing ammonia; there isnt anyone I can ask to do it for me. ammonia is currently 1ppm in the tank; nothing but plants and some snails in there now. I'm going to raise it to 5ppm, dose tomorrow (friday) and dose again sunday night when I get back, but I'll be missing saturday.

is this gonna impeded anything, or effect anything drastically, you think? I've never fishless cycled before, so, a little worried.

should be ok

thanks!

I only fed my tank every few days even when the ammonia was dropping to zero within a 24hr period. A couple days without ammonia isn't going to hurt...I'd add ammonia after not for 2-3 days and it would still be zero the next day.

i wouldn't bump your ammonia over 4 ppm, as higher ammonia than that can have a detrimental effect on the bacteria. up to 4 ppm, no higher, and you're good to go!
