After our fish tank was all set up and filled with fish, I noticed that the fish tank tilted slightly toward the left, so the water level on the left is about half a centimeter higher than the water level on the right. I'm just wondering if this would affect the lifespan of the tank. I used a level and measured at the base of the tank stand, and it showed that the tilt began there, so the tank itself isn't in any type of stress itself. I'm guessing maybe my house isn't leveled. Since I think it's too late now to adjust the tank position, should I just start stuffing paper piece by piece under the left side of the tank? Or would the tank be fine

Yeah, that's what I'm doing right now, but I'm just afraid the tank may be experiencing uneven stress levels which may cause damage later on

As long as the surface it's sitting on is flat, you should be fine. Where you run into problems is where the weight of the tank is being supported by 2 points rather than the whole base.

try putting a peice of cork under the tank. it will even it out.

Actually he should put it under the stand not the tank.
The stand should support all sides of the tank evenly. Since the stand also shows it is not level, placing something like a thin slat of wood under the stand would be the proper way to level it. Under just the tank could leave small gaps that are not supported resulting in leaks at the stress points later.

my fish tank is also slightly tilted but its fine. as long as the surface is flat and your tank is on an appropriate stand, it should be fine.
