Flame Gouramies *now has white mold? growing on it?!?

Well i posted a question on the behavior they we displaying earlier and decided it was inocent enough...but now i think the nipping may be becoming a problem.

Could someone tell me if this is from fighting or a possible disease or infection. On one side of the smaller one a few scales are kind of faded with a white outline, and ont he other side a few scaled towards it top fin seems to be starting to come off and a ways below that there is a whitish area that looks like it could possibly be a wound...or a sickness?

Anyway, what do you guys think it is and what can i do to help it?

From what i have read on them, i thought they would be peacefull, but they seem to chase each other around alot(not bothering other fish, its just each other).

You're talking about the red variant of a dwarf gourami right? The males will boss each other around (its natural) and some damage may occur (upturned scales for instance). If it gets too serious (wounds get infected, which sounds like may be your case) you may want to consider removing one of them. You could try to exchange the bossy one and hope to get a more peaceful one.

I looked at him today and now the white area i thought was a wound has alot of what appears to be a mold growing? What is this and how can i treat it? I dont really know much about fish diseases...just the basic stuff like ich.

Thanks

oh yeah, it is a red variant of the dwarf gourami

White-ish fluffy stuff? Could be a bacterial infection (even if it's yellowish)...could be a number of things...but most likely its a bacterial infection. Some may say fungus. Many fungus treatments treat bacteria too. Try to narrow down the cause b4 you treat for it though. Try searching for treatments and fish diseases.

make sure you don't have anything that may be leaching mettals into the tank water in your tank. gourami's are everything from very hardy to delicate depending on the species....

The only thing im not 100% sure about is a brick with a hole through it i put in there for sort of a cave thing...what about that?

Its just a usual brick that you put on a house.
