I woke up this morning to feed my fish and I saw one of my ADFs floating on the surface! I thought he was dead, and I touched his leg just to make sure, and he swam away! That was a big relief...He also let out a little bit of air and then sank to mid-tank, but then swam back up to the top for more air (quite tiredly). Once he gulped more air he continued to float on the surface. What's wrong? What can I do? I'll test water parameters after class at 12 and post them. I hope he's okay :-/

ADFs are a goofy, goofy species. I wouldn't worry too much. Sounds like your is doing crazy stuff just like they all do from time to time. I've been keeping two ADF's since the beginning of the year and they have been a ton of fun to watch. Sometimes I will walk by the tank and I'll see one floating with his nose on the gravel and legs sprawled out above him.

Sit back and enjoy the show. They're fun critters to watch.

:-( Now he's floating on the bottom...on his back :'( All water paramaters are normal, so I don't know what would have done

Well, if your concerned there may be something wrong, you could put him in some nice clean water in a smaller bowl/tank for a bit and see how he does. Just be sure to change the water pretty regulary...frogs dirty up thier water rather quickly.

I did a 20-25% water change the day before this happened. I just bought the frog 2-3 days before, and I'm guessing it was the stress from transportation. The PH was approximately 7

Great. Just great. I went to the local PetCo to get a replacement since it was only a few days in my possession, water paramaters checked fine of course. I did this around 7ish, and now I see another one of my frogs (can't tell if it's the other one I had, or the new one) floating at the surface...Cross your fingers for me (and my frog) :-/
