Hi! This may be a silly question, but I've read several people on other threads saying that they float frozen water bottles in their tanks to keep them cool. I'd like to do this, but I can't find a water or soda bottle that doesn't have a sticky label. I don't want to use soap to scrub off the glue, but I'm worried that if I just use hot water, traces of glue might remain on the bottle.
I bought a few blank travel-size plastic bottles from the drugstore, but these are so small that they thaw pretty quickly and don't affect the tank's temp at all. I was thinking of buying a tupperware container, but it seems kinda bulky. What kinds of bottles do other people use? And if you use soda bottles, how do you get the glue off?

you can scrap off all the glue with a butter knife an if you are not comfortable with that you might try taking gallon ziplock bags and filling them with ice

There are a couple brands that use a shrink wrap type label, that's easily removed without any residue, instead of the glued on paper type. That's what I used last year when my AC died. Also remember to add Prime or other dechlor to the water you freeze "just in case".

A lot of the larger water bottles, have that sleeve that just slips off. Alcohol would also remove the glue and not be a problem.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I just picked up 4 of the shrink-wrap type water bottles. The label is adhered with 3 little dots of glue, but I think I can scrape it off or use alcohol like rbishop said.
My tank holding at about 80.5, which I think is ok for all my fish except the rosy barbs. For their sake, I'd be satisfied if I could keep it at 78 throughout the summer.
