Okay, I always wanted one of these, went to Petco to get some fish, they are having a huge sale. I seen these moss balls in a tank. All on the gravel. I get mine home, rinse it and out it in my tank, it floats !!! How do I get it to sink?

Are you talking about the Marimo? I have two of these in my 30G. They're like little sponges kinda... when they get full of water they'll sink.

Yes !! That is the name. I put it a little under the corner of the driftwood to keep it down. Not where I wanted it, but I'll wait till it soaks up the water and then move it,. Thank you

Unless its one of those styrofoam balls with Java Moss wrapped around it. Those will never sink.

post a picture of it and we can tell you.

The moss ball I got from the LFS sunk immediately and has been growing like crazy.

But would they not float at the LFS as well? Friendlyfins said they were all on the gravel at the LFS.

Yes, they were all on the gravel. It is squishy feeling. I squeezed the LFS water out of it. Maybe that was why ... Here is a pic

Maybe that is what happened. All the water it soaked up in the LFS is not there anymore.
A little of topic but how is your banana plant doing? What kind of lighting do you have?

The banana plant is doing good, so far. I have LED lighting. I put a fertilizer tab near it in the sand when I put it in the tank. I want another one, was waiting to see if this one makes it. From what I hear from other people, it's iffy.

Those moss balls are actually able to move. They will float to he surface following the light, then sink, then move around the tank. Mine were never in the same place for 2 days. they always moved around.
