I recently got some wisteria from another member here, but when I discovered it was a moderate light plant I thought I'd have to give it up. But then I decided to leave it floating and see what happens.

Well so far, it's still lime green and is shooting its roots into the water column below. I'm wondering if the floating has allowed it enough light to sustain itself, since the light doesn't have to travel that far down to hit the plant, its intensity seems to be better for that situation.
Do you think it will do well this way instead of being planted? ~Angela

Planting it only anchors it down, it still gets nutrients from the water column. It will be fine floating or planted. I'll bet if you plant it, the leaves will become more broad and it'll grow up pretty quickly anyway.

whos giving out wisteria?

floating should be just fine, but the plant will not form a main stalk id suggest leaving a piece or 2 floating and planting the rest. otherwise youll end up w/ a huge cloud of green that will block light to your other plants.
