Flourite too Rough for Corys?

I'm trying to start a 10 gallon planted tank and I've decided to go with Flourite. However, these pieces look pretty rough/jagged. I was hoping to have a corydoras or two in there, but I wonder if it will be a problem (i.e.- harm their barbels). Now that I think about it, should I even be considering corys in a planted tank, would they uproot all of my plants?

I keep cories in a planted 29 gallon with pea stone which is rough and they are doing great and have even bred. It is generally poor water conditons and diet that can lead to issues with cories barbs.

Cories won't uproot any plants, make sure to get at least 3. They do best in groups. And in a smaller tank like a 10 gallon stay with the smaller varieties like peppered or panda.

A good clean tank will keep them healthy. Feed them a varied diet of different sinking foods.
 
Thanks everyone. After posting I jumped over to planet catfish to research. I will probably go with 3-5 corys, depending on which species I go with. Side note, any suggestions on plants that suit corys well?

IME any plants will do, but try to leave a small "hidden" open area at the back of the tank for them to sleep. Every time I replant or rearrange my plants I leave a sleeping spot for the cories and they usually do end up sleeping in there. Sometimes it's right on the substrate, sometimes they pick a new flatish rock I've added, but it's always near the back and sheltered so they can be "safe" from predators.

That's funny mine sleep right out front, but under the leaf of a amazon sword. Maybe it is due to my blind eyeless cory who is the mom. She doesn't seem to care where she sleeps and the others hang out with her.
 
Thanks for that advice Roan, I'll keep a sleeping spot in mind. Get this, I've had the Flourite in the tank w/ filter running for about a week now, and something has sprouted! It must have come stowed away in the bag, there's nothing but flourite and water in there, the hood lights aren't even on. Anyone ever experience this?

I just got back from the LFS and I saw these Von Rio Flame Tetras. I'm thinking a school of these and a small group of corys. The panda corys at the LFS were tiny, but it says they get up to 3in...
