Flower Horn

I just saved this guy yesterday in a pet store, someone brought him in two weeks ago and they were treating him since. Fins were are ripped up, had hole in the head, and just looked horrible. They had no room and put him in a tank with a Golden Flower Horn and a Red Devil… him being the smallest one in there did not go to well and by the time I got there he was already floating on his side. I took him of their hands. He was stressed out yesterday but today in the morning he is swimming around and eating just fine, already jumping at the glass for food when I walk by.

Can anyone give me any more information on this guy? Perhaps type of a flower horn? Sex? Any obvious diseases on him?

Looks like a cichlid to me.....I would start looking in that direction though.....

What a interesting color of blue...
Does he look dyed to you?
How big is the fish? Looks to have had good trailers starting on dorsal and anal fins, but not much sign of a nuchal hump from what I can see.
Definitely has taken a beating recently and been neglected.
That looks like it may be HITH, with the whitish edge to the wound, can you get a better pic?
I'm not real hot at ID'ing fish yet... Hmmmm, time to go looking.
