Fluidized Sand Bed vs Sump vs Canister for 100g Planted Community

Hello All.

I have a 100g (6ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft). Right now I have 2 Marineland 350 HOBs on it, plus a separate UV filter.

I'm looking for something a bit less obvious with less noise, and the sump appeals because I could put the heater, UV, etc. in it... but I'm concerned that a FSB, Sump, or Canister won't provide enough movement.

This is a planted community tank, and one day I may inject CO2.

What do you guys think?

I use a sump on my 100 and love it. I made my own spraybar for the return and it does the job. My tank isn't planted but does have a couple plants for the fish to eat.

I believe the issue w/ CO2 and sumps is that they have so much exposure to the outside air that it defeats the purpose. Correct me if I'm wrong as I only have limited experience with them...

i wonder if it would off-gas any more or less than my two double HOBs?...
