Fluorescent Lighting Question

Building initially a FOWLR/LS that includes a few inverts for cleaning. Think I need to upgrade my lighting from general spectrum lighting to say a 10K light.

Considering the ZooMed 10K or the ZooMed ReefSun. Has anyone used these bulbs. Anyone have any input, reliability, lifespan, quality, etc.

for a fowlr, it realy dont matter what bulbs youa re using. i have used both the zoomed and the reefsun. It doeesnt matter too much. jsut find a color that you like. My fowlr (well, one of them), has two slots for light and my fav combo is a popular one, just 1 10000K and 1 20000K. what do you mean from a full spectrum to a 10000K? a 10000K is a full spectrum.

Fishiness, what I mean is that the lighting is what came with the fixture at the Pet store. The tank I got from PetSmart with a stand and hood and the light. So, I think the light is same type that is in my garage (certainly not a specific range).

And yes, for about the next 9 to 12 months, this will be a FOWLR tank, but I plan to begin adding coral sometime later. My fish selection is geared towards that end, but I cannot afford the equipment necessary to start down the coral path right away. I know I need quality lighting, water cooler, and water conditioner (probably another grand if not more) before I can begin adding coral.

However, I want to add a light that helps my tanks natural processes even with a FOWLR tank. I guess I could try the 10K light and see what happens. Worse case is that i have to go back to the off the shelf light.
