Fluval 404 Hose size

Joe, sinse you had the uv hooked up to one of the filters, that tube that came with it is 5/8". I am pretty sure that that is the size of a lot of tubing that is used with fish. It is also used with a python.
Well I went out and bought some 5/8inch inside diameter tubing and it is not the same! I also bought some 3/4inch inside diameter and it is too big. The original fluval tubing looks like it is 5/8 but the 5/8 I bought from the store is smaller for sure. I personally think the stuff I got from the store is undersized. After going on LEE's web site(The hose manufacturer) it says that all there tubing is slightly undersized for a tighter fit. I guess I will have to order the tubing right from Hagen.
This is what I did whem I got rid of the corragated(sp?). I just took the piece I was going to be connecting the new hose to Home Depot. Then I was able to try all the sizes at one time.
What you do have to look out for on hoses at Home Depot, Lowes, etc... is that the hose might be say 5/8", but you have to take in consideration the gage of the tube. Some tubing uses a thicker plastic than others.
