Hi All! I'm Lo 
I have been keeping fish for about 8 or 9 years now. At first, it was gold fish, then about 5 or 6 years ago I moved on to tropical. I have now had a 29 gallon planted tank in my bedroom for about 5 years, and have had a few 10 gallons which have been set up and taken down at different times.
I had a 5.5 gallon standard tank with a Betta fish in it for the past 5 years also. About two weeks ago, my betta died, so I have taken the tank down, thoroughly cleaned it and am selling the whole set up off to a friend who has a young nephew that would like to learn about fish.
I still would like to get another betta fish, though--and when I saw the fluval chi I fell in love. I am usually strict about heavy filtration, and use aqua clears on all my tanks... but I have heard many good things about the fluval chi, and that it has adequate filtration. I figure that, mixed with frequent 25% water changes (2 a week instead of my usual 1) and a good plant ecosystem in the tank would make a really nice environment for a new betta. (I will have a lid, also)
What I'm looking for is some advice on good low-light plants. This tank will go on my desk at work. The entire top half of the wall behind my desk is glass, but there is no direct sunlight past the first foot of my floor because of the shape of the building. However, a great deal of natural light fills my office, so I'm hoping that this, combined with the led will provide some good lighting for low-light plants.
I know I want anubias. I love that plant, and hope to find a nice piece of driftwood (preferably real, but I will settle for a fake one if needed to give my betta a place to hide out) to attach it to so that it's roots will get a lot of light. I have had great success getting anubias to flower this way.
What other plants would you suggest? I would like the tank to look lush, while still giving my betta plenty of swimming room. I would also like to avoid anything that grows too out of control. I am also considering a marimo ball. I will be using Tahitian moon sand mixed with eco-complete for substrate. I would love to get some advice from you guys about some plants I should look into for my tank!
