Fluval E series Heaters

So as I was looking at Ken's I like this heater and read lots of good stuff about the,. I am curious if I bought the 300watt for my 30g because its only $5 if it would make my tank to hot. After reading it seems like I put it on a desired temperature and if it gets to hot it will turn of or if it gets to cold it will warm up. Am I reading this right of the site? Also would there be a better choice?

You should be able to get away with just a 100-150 watt heater in a small 30 gal tank..

But say I spent the extra $5-6 bucks would it be okay to have it in that size of a tank like it wouldn't get up to 100 degress?

Spend the extra $5.00 dollars. It will work fine. It has the same heat sensors as the 150 watt. It just made to heat up more water. I had an 800w titanium on a 30gal.

Okay so my thought is fine on how I can get a bigger heater for less money than buying a new 1!
