FO really don't like LR

i would like to do an FO tank with no LR. i know all the benifits of LR but it just seems to be a hassle, all of the algea and bacteria blooms hitchhikers and stuff coming from the rock.
would it be fesable to just take some sand or water to seed base rock with JUST the nitrifying bacteria? ANY WAY??
 
Maybe you could not put any LR into the DISPLAY tank but rather put the LR in your sump so you get some BB while still just having the base rock in the main tank.
 
Agreed - I'm also thinking sump, or maybe lots of rubble in a huge canister filter. Question - if no LR, what will you 'scape w/ ?? Marine plants are pretty small & weedy looking for the most part...

yeah alot of lace rock or what ever the orange and white stuff with the holes in it is, maybe some silk kelp or something, id arange the rocks to try and make as much shelter as possible.
im just kinda of sick of algea blooms and this **** cyano bact that WON'T go away. i figure if i can't introduce it into the tank it cant' spread.
i gues i got some more thinking to do about this.
