I will be getting a new tank and Oak stand soon. Does anyone know what product (Home Depot) to "line" the stand so the aquarium levels out nicely?? Is this a door weather-proofing product?

(tried a search, but didn't find the topic..)

Thanks!

Some people have talked about using blue insulation foam sheets. I have used cardboard and also dense foam weatherstripping. Both work well.

I used a thin foam mat sold for exercies, got it at a garage sale.

I currently use white 3/4" styrofoam insulation sheets from Home Depot on my twin-tier 75g stands, much to my suprise they have not compressed as I had expected. At most they have compressed under the weight perhaps 1/8".

Logically it seems to me that it's the best distribution of weight with the lowest amount of stress on any given point. Sort of like how you try to support a baby or pet along as much of the body as possible when holding them.

Had the same problem when I set up my 90gal. Thought the blue foam was too thick so I went with the felt door/window weather proofing stuff (which is what wetman suggested on his site...I think?). It is 1/8" inch thick and 1" wide or so. Yes, it's with all the other weather-izing stuff.
