Ok i just got a fish tank this is my first time having one i got it yesterday. The water is foggy. Its a white fog any suggetions on how to get it to clear up?
Is this bad? Could my fish die? :help:

Its probably just particles that ned to settle in your water from new gravel. Did you rinse your gravel good? Are you using sand?

I've heard of this before and it seems to be normal at first, although you should take a water sample to your local fish store. And if Its a tropical tank dont put to many fish in it to start with, your tank needs to cycle first.

i used white gravel and i rinsed it b4 putting it in it was fine all yesterday now it just got foggy.

Do you have a heater? tropical is freshwater, it simply means for the most part that its heated water. what type of filter is it? Biological?

no heater the guy at the pet shop said i didnt need one i have a betta fish its a small tamk and thats the only fish in there im not sure if its biological. The filter is an under gravel filter

oh i see, well perhaps then take a water sample down to your local fish place and ask some more questions. I don't know much on betta's(been studying tropical's) but ive heard of that before and your filter should catch it I'd think.
