After a month of my female red zebra holding and hiding and my male zebra running the other fish off, I saw not a hint of fry. She eventually started coming up to eat and they both haven't really been protecting the spot for a few days now. So I figured it must have been my imagination or the fry got eaten or something. BUT! Just now I saw 1 baby dart out of the cave then back in! After staring at the cave for like 5 minutes straight, I have a feeling it's the only one left, but that is still so cool! I'm going to be on stakeout with my camera for the next few days, so I'll post a pic when I get one.

next time you find one of you r cichlids to be holding put her into her own tank to raise the fry stress free.

i took her 2 weeks after spawn and checked on her weekly. just pull her out of the tank and open her mouth with something dull. if you see fishies just shake them out underwater. i also made a egg bubbler. wierd contraption but the eggs hatched.
